Jamshedpur, Feb 27: Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus, Tata Sons and newly appointed chairman of Tata Sons Natarajan Chandrasekaran along with nine directors of Tata Steel will arrive in Jamshedpur to attend Founder’s Day celebrations in the city.
This is the first occasion when the chairman will stay in steel city for three days.
Ratan Tata and other directors will be arriving here in the morning of March 2. A Board of Directors meeting for the first time will be held in the board room of MD Office inside the company premises on March 2. Seven LED screens have been put inside the board room.
As many as 100 new computers have been put up to provide reports to the directors in time. The directors are slated to attend the dinner on the Founder’s Day and will leave the city on March 4.
The Steel city is all decked up for the 178th Founder’s Day celebrations. Jubilee Park and other institutions of Tata Steel have been lit up. All the important roads and roundabouts have been decorated.
This time the newly appointed chairman of Tata Sons Natarajan Chandrasekaran and Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus, Tata Sons will participate in the celebrations. On the Founder’s Day (March 3) N Chandrasekaran and Ratan Tata can inaugurate several projects, According to company sources, the restructured E-Blast furnace might be inaugurated on the day. Apart from this several digital projects of Jusco will also be kicked off.
According to Jusco officials the road widening work of most of the roads is done and several roundabouts specially the one from Regal roundabout towards Circuit House has been decorated with special light. The decoration work will get over by March 1.
It may be noted that Tata Steel has selected the theme for this year’s pageantry as ‘Going Digital’ which would be held as usual inside the Tata Steel works with tableaus by Tata Steel and its subsidiaries and sister concerns based on the theme of digital initiatives. The entire Jubilee Park including the Jayanti Sarovar and Upvan have been decked up for the week-long festivities.
The global thoughts and ideals of the founder, which have strengthened the company’s foundations, would be on displayed. Apart from Tata Steel and other companies of the Tata group, hotels and restaurants are also being decked up for the occasion.
Jusco has also installed bamboo poles with fresh coat of white painting at vacant stretch of areas near pavements to prevent squatters and vendors near TMH roundabout as part of beautification.
