Jamshedpur, August 30: The 13th edition of Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz –a knowledge initiative by the Tata group was rolled out on August 5th 2016.
Shrimant Kumar Mallick and Sampad Mishra from SAIL emerged victorious at the regional round that was held in Jamshedpur on Tuesday, August 30. The runners-up position was bagged by S W Kispotta and Anand Raj from Bokaro Steel Plant. Sudhansu Pathak, Vice President (Steel Manufacturing), Tata Steel Limited, awarded the prize money of Rs.75,000 to the winning team and Rs.35,000 to the runners-up. The winners of the national final will receive a grand prize of Rs.500,000 along with the coveted Tata Crucible Trophy.
This year, Jamshedpur regional round witnessed notable presence of teams consisting of some prominent corporates. A total number of 53 teams participated and gave a tough challenge to the winners at the regional round of Tata Crucible.
Besides the winners and runners-up, the other four teams that qualified in the top six included Debajit Rabha and Ravi Banjare from Rourkela Steel Plant, Salil Gupte and Girish Sharma from Tata Steel, Debabrata Chowdhury and Rajiv Gautam from Bokaro Steel Plant and Mohit Bhatt, E G Khan from Tata Steel.
Known for his unique style of quizzing, ace quizmaster Giri Balasubramaniam, popularly known as ‘Pickbrain’ hosted this year’s quiz competition.
The city regional rounds will be followed by zonal finals, which will be organized in New Delhi (Zone 1), Kolkata (Zone 2), Mumbai (Zone 3) and Chennai (Zone 4).
The top two teams from each zone will battle it out for the Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz 2016 title at the National Finals to be held in Mumbai in October.
Traversing across 25 cities in India, Tata Crucible aims to provide a unique opportunity for young talent to test their business intelligence.
