Jamshedpur, Jan 25: The third day and the concluding day of ‘Wheels 2014’ saw a blistering performance by Jamshedpur girl and famous bollywood singer Shilpa Rao who mesmerized the audiences with her voice.
Shilpa made the audience dance to the tunes of songs from English Vinglish,Dhoom 3 and Paa.
Earlier in the day various events were held including ‘Bridge the gap’ where students had to build a bridge using ice cream sticks, glue and cobbler thread, students from 6 different schools of Jamshedpur participated.
‘Eastern Vocals/Tarang’ -solo singing of eastern songs where 20 students participated and sang bollywood songs like O Re Piye.
At the ‘Extempore’ 12 students participated. A debate competition was organized during the event were four groups each having four students participated.
Topic for the final round was “Should capital punishment be abolished?” General quiz competition was also hosted by GM HR of Tata Motors Sanjay Verma. The winner of the quiz was Loyola School.
The closing ceremony of the event was inaugurated by Plant Head Mr and Mrs AB Lall, GM manufacturing Mr and Mrs Mohan Kumar, General Secretary of TWU Chandrabhan Prasad and CEO of Drivelines Sampath Kumar.
AB Lall said Wheels was conducted even in difficult times to encourage the students of Jamshedpur and will be continued in future. He gave away the prizes for the events held today.
The 27th edition of the mega inter-school fest, organised by the Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) club, saw participation of hundreds of students from various city schools.
