Jamshedpur: Dhalbhum sub divisional officer Chandan Kumar visited several Chhath ghats and reviewed safety, cleanliness, accessibility and availability of basic amenities for the devotees. He also held a review of Durga Puja preparations in the city on Thursday.
Kumar visited all eight ghats of Swarnarekha river and also went to Dimna lake. He directed the officials concerned to take steps to ensure proper illumination and safety barricading on the riverbanks. He said special focus would be laid on safety and cleanliness at Chhath ghats.
The SDO said he would soon visit the ponds near ISWP Gurudwara and ISWP quarters. He said immersion should not be allowed at Hudco lake without the permission of the district administration. Electrification of approach roads should be ensured, he said, addng further that slope test should be done at Baroda Ghat in Bagbera.
The SDO asked the officials concerned to take undertaking from all puja committees regarding fireproofing of pandals. A centralized fire prevention system will be kept near CCR and Jugsalai police station, he said.
The SDO said all puja pandals will be declared no smoking zones. Dustbins will have to be installed around all pandals. Banners regarding do’s and don’t’s will be installed at all pandals.
