Narendran to hoist national flag inside Tata Steel works
Jamshedpur, Aug 14: Jamshedpur is gripped with patriotic fervour as the country gears up to celebrate its 73rd Independence Day.
Brisk preparations are underway by various segment of the society to celebrate the Independence Day in a befitting manner on Thursday.
Like every year, citizens will reiterate their pledge to safeguard the solidarity of the country and pay tributes to the martyrs. A number of public buildings have already been illuminated for the occasion.
The East Singhbhum administration would organise a grand celebrations at Gopal Maidan.
On this occasion, a march past as well as a colourful cultural function would be organised to mark the day. Apart from this, various freedom fighters would also be felicitated in the function. Food and Civil Supply Minister Saryu Roy will unfurl the National Flag.
Adequate police personnel have been posted in around the Gopal Maidan, the venue of the main Independence Day celebrations in the city.
School students, cadets of NCC, JAP, CRPF, RAF and district police would participate in the parade
Tata Steel would also organise a series of events to celebrate the day. The national flag will be hoisted inside Tata Steel works on Thursday morning at around 8 am by MD and CEO TV Narendran.
City-based school colleges and educational institutions would also organise events to pay homage to the leaders, who dedicated their life for the nation.
On the other hand, the markets particularly Sakchi and Bistupur have turned into a sale points of Indian flags, stickers, banners and buntings which have been printed in hundreds of thousands numbers. The business is in full swing as these items are in great demand by the people.
