‘Run for Unity’ witnesses great response in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Remembering the ‘Iron Man of India’ Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, thousands of people participated in the ‘Run for Unity’ organized by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Metal Collection Committee on Sunday.

At a function organised at Modi Park BJP MLA Rahuwar Das along with ace mountaineer Premlata Agrawal flagged off the run. The Run for Unity was held in various parts of the country simultaneously marking the death anniversary of Sardar Patel.

College students and general public took part in the run from Modi Park to Aamgagan Sakchi.
Speaking to reporters Das said that the event has bagged outstanding response as thousands of people registered their names for the run.

Organisations like Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce , Jamshedpur Chamber of Commerce , Hindustan Maitri Sangh, Defodils School , Rose Bird School, Shiksha Niketan , Tinplate Khalsa Middle School , Surat Gujarati School , social institutions in Shayam Mitra Mandal,, Shyam Bhakta Mandal , Bangbhashi Samaj, Chhattisgarh Welfare Committee , Gujarati Samaj , Jain Society , Bal Mandir , Dusad Society , Sahu Samaj , and Sindhi society took part in it.

The Gujarat Government’s most touted project of installing 182 mts tall iron statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, going to be the tallest statue in the world is in the making and this statue is going to be made out of the used iron farm equipment collected throughout the nation.
