Company chairman receives prize in Tokyo

: RSB Transmissions Limited has bagged the Deming Prize, one of the most prestigious awards in Total Quality Management. Mr RK Behera, chairman, RSB Transmissions Limited, received the prize from Mr Masahiro Sakane, vice chairman, Deming Prize Committee, Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (JUSE).

The Auto Division of RSB Transmissions Limited, having manufacturing plants in Pune, Jamshedpur and Uttarakhand, the flagship company of RSB Group, was conferred with the prize at a grand function organized in Tokyo on 13th November last. The function was held at Keidnanren Hall of Tokyo. Mr M Sankaranarayanan, president, Auto Vertical and Mr G Krishnasami, vice president (TQM) were also present during the ceremony.

With the prestigious Deming Prize in its hands, the RSB Transmissions has joined the select group of international companies that have been conferred the honour.

The Deming Prize is an annual award given by JUSE to organizations across the globe that successfully implement TQM practices. It is the most coveted and prestigious awards in the world in the field of management practices. RSB is the only Indian company to win this award in the year 2013, company officials said.

Accepting the award, Mr RK Behera said that TQM implementation has resulted in significant improvements in all performance indicators.

He said TQM is thoroughly institutionalized at RSB and instilled in all the employees.

Mr SK Behera, vice chairman and managing director, who was involved in every stage of RSB’s run up to the Deming Award said, “At RSB, quality has no finish line. We will always continue to enhance our quality, technology and management practices to delight our stakeholders,”

Behera also took the opportunity to congratulate the RSB team for its commitment and hard work. He said that in a few years, the company will vie for the highest Deming Award, the Deming Grand Prize.

RSB Group is a global engineering institution, with turnover INR 1200 crore plus, in automotive components and systems and construction equipment aggregates operating in several countries.
