Jamshedpur, Feb 16: The Bajrang Akhara Samiti is all set to be revived. Move towards this end commenced today with a meeting of old and new members to reinstate the glorious celebration of the Akhara at the Kharangajhar Community Development Maidan that had seen celebration of Ram Nawami festival replete with processions, brave acrobatic displays and special bands since the year 2000. Due to certain unavoidable circumstances, Ram Nawami celebrations could not be organized over the past few years but members are now decided to revive the traditional, annual celebration.
A meeting was convened today at the Community Development Centre Ground and worked out details for the celebration of Ram Nawami. The members of the Bajrang Akhara Committee planned on the performance of Bajrang Maha Arti, worship of Lord Shri Hanuman, performance of dare-devil acts by adept acrobats and gymnasts and organizing the procession. The application for permission to take out the procession has already been sent to the district administration. The Akhara Samiti committee to manage the events during the forthcoming Ram Nawami celebrations will be announced within a week.
Among those who attended today’s meeting were Pankaj Mishra, Ashok Swami, Santu Sahu, Umesh Chowdhary, Nagendra Upadhyay, Ganesh Tiwary, Guddu Verma, Biswajit Ghosh, Bapi Das, Vivek Prasad, Rakesh Mishra, Santu Roy and Raju Gorai.
