Jamshedpur, Aug 8: BJP leader and former member of the Jharkhand Khadi Board Kulwant Singh Bunty condoled the death of a 20 year old youth who lost his life when his two-wheeler hit a trailer truck on Thursday night near the Tata Steel Burmamines gate. He said, “The trucks and trailers parked on either side of the kalimati Road at Burmamines HSM Gate, entire East Plant Area road to RD Tata roundabout, Lal baba factory, Azad basti, Manifit Main Road and other city points are accident beckoners. I have written to the DC on earlier occasions asking the administration to evict such unauthorized parking but nothing has been done to resolve the issue. Tata Steel has provided a parking space for these trucks and trailers but the drivers and handymen are bent on parking their vehicles haphazardly and dangerously on the roadsides. As a result accidents take place at regular intervals some of which result in fatalities. The sad death of the young man yesterday near the Burmamines gate is a case in point. The administration should pay compensation to the deceased’s bereaved family.”
Moreover, the BJP leader pointed out that the drivers and handymen come from other states and could be Corona carriers. They spat around places thereby creating every chance for infection. Bunty said that either the administration should stop entry of such vehicles or ensure that the drivers park their vehicles allotted for the purpose.
Kulwant warned that if the administration did not take heed a strong agitation will be launched until the problems caused by parking of heavy vehicles were removed.
