Jamshedpur, Aug 16: Members of various Bengali organizations have condemned the removal of a statue of martyr Khudiram Bose from Chandil roundabout. They staged a demonstration before the Jamshedpur Collectorate on Friday and demanded re-installation of the statue.
After the demonstration, the protestors took out a procession and met the deputy commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla. A petition with the demand for re-installation of the martyr’s statue was handed to the DC.
Ashudev Mahato, secretary of Khudiram Bose Smriti Samaroh Samiti, said the statue was installed at the roundabout on 10th August last. He said Section 144 of CRPC was imposed at the installation site.
