Jamshedpur, July 10: The relatives and well-wishers of Ravi Prakash alias Kashi, the Parsudih resident brutally killed by unidentified persons, staged angry demonstration on the main road near gate number 2 of Tata Motors on Wednesday. They alleged that police slackness had led to the youth’s killing. They resorted to agitation during the funeral of the deceased, demanding action against errant cops and compensation for the bereaved family.
Police recovered the youth’s body on National Highway 33 on Tuesday last. The body bore deep injuries caused by stoning. Cops found the body lying near bushes close to Barabanki culvert. Ravi went missing from his house in Bavangora Basti after 3 pm on Friday last. His friend Pradip had reportedly called him and taken him along on a bike. Later, Pradip returned alone. A case was registered by Ravi’s father Manoj Thakur with Parsudih PS in this regard. Cops interrogated Pradip about Ravi’s whereabouts and later released him. Thakur told cops his son had taken the name of one Kallu planning to kill him.
Telco police officials said they were earlier searching for Ravi in connection with Jemco firing case. Police had put Ravi’s mobile number on surveillance. After a search, Ravi’s body was found near Barabanki.
