Jamshedpur, Sept. 19: Jamshedpur FC is preparing for Indian Super League (ISL) season 6 in its hometown. The players have been undergoing rigorous training at the Flatlets ground and Furnace (JRD Tata Sports Complex).
Men of Steel continued their training at the Flatlets ground on Thursday. It has been more than a week since the whole squad including Tiri, Piti, Noe Acosta, Sergio Castel, Aitor Mounroy along with star striker CK Vineeth is sweating it out at the ground.
As the team gears up for its third ISL outing local lads Mobashir Rahman and Gourav Mukhi are also training hard.
Head of JFC Antonio Iriondo is quite pleased with the facilities at the Flatlets and JRD Tata Sports Complex. He was of the opinion that top clubs in Spain and Europe have the kind of facilities that Jamshedpur FC possesses.
With the new season round the corner, Tata Steel owned franchisee will be playing five practice matches as part of their pre-season training. In the first encounter Jamshedpur FC will play against I-league side Real Kashmir Football Club at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on September 21. Real Kashmir FC arrived in Jamshedpur on September 19 evening and the players have been put up in the Kadma Flatlets. Players of the Srinagar based club will practice at the Flatlets ground on September 20 on the eve of the match against Men of Steel.
According to sources, the practice game between Jamshedpur FC and Real Kashmir FC will be played under floodlights at the JRD Tata Sports Complex and is scheduled to start at 6.30 pm.
The JFC management has decided there would be no charges for witnessing the match which means a bonanza for football fanatics of the city. With Jamshedpur FC conducting their pre-season in the Steel City, the team management has decided to play several practice matches against different teams.
Two-time ISL champions Chennaiyin FC is also slated to visit Jamshedpur for a practice match on September 28.
According to sources Jamshedpur FC will visit Mumbai for a practice match against Mumbai City FC on October 5.
Manipur based Neroca Football Club will also play a practice match against Jamshedpur FC in Jamshedpur on October 11.
The next on the list is Durand Cup champions Gokulam Kerala Football Club. The Kozhikode based club will visit the Steel City and play against Jamshedpur FC on October 15.
Earlier on Wednesday, Jamshedpur FC players attended a Yoga session. Yog Guru Anshu Sarkar gave tips and helped them perform different yoga asanas which will aid them in maintaining physical fitness. Foreign and Indian players were informed about the benefits of Yoga. The players thereafter attended the photo shoot session for the new ISL season. Famous Bollywood photographer Rohan Shrestha clicked the pictures of the Jamshedpur FC players.
