Jamshedpur, Feb 10: District BJP spokesperson and Shiksha Satyagrah leader Ankti Anand here on Sunday announced that he was ready to court arrest before SSP Jamshedpur in connection with allegations of assault against him leveled by the principal of Church School, Beldih. He however demanded arresting of the school principal L Peterson and other management officials before his arrest.

Addressing a press meet this evening, Anand said the district administration should take prompt action against the school principal and various other management officials for hurting Hindu sentiments. He alleged that Peterson and several other school officials had threatened him and the relatives of Rishant Ojha and pressurized them to withdraw complaint against them.

“The school principal and other school staff tried to threaten us and hurt our religious sentiments by giving anti-Hindu statements during the meeting. This provoked me to ask him to go out of the room,” said Anand.

The BJP leader accused the officer in-charge of Bistupur PS of working under the influence of the school management. He said the police were showing partiality in the case.

Online FIR lodged against school officials: Tiwary

All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) leader Appu Tiwary Sunday said he had registered an online FIR against the Church School principal L Peterson and other school officials for hurting Hindu religious sentiments. He said the FIR was registered under Kadma PS. He said he would wait for the school management to take action against its errant officials in the case. He said strict legal action would be taken against the school management in case it fails to take satisfactory measures.

BJP leader demands action against Church School

District BJP general secretary Anil Modi Sunday said the incident of assault on Church School student Rishant Ojha and subsequent ill-treatment meted out to his parents and supporters were unfortunate. He demanded justice for Rishant and his relatives. He alleged that the school management was ignoring the pleas of Rishant’s kin and supporters. He said the district BJP spokesperson had gone to the school to seek action against the guilty staff in connection with the incident of assault on Rishant by another student during dispersal time. But instead of resolving the matter, the school officials concerned threatened BJP leader Ankit Anand, AJSU leader Appu Yadav and Rishant’s relatives, which is very unfortunate, he said.
