Jamshedpur: The BJP leader and former deputy CM Raghuwar Das on Friday dared the Congress to hold Jharkhand polls along with Lok Sabha elections due in 2014 May.
Addressing the media, he said that the Government must hold Assembly polls along with Lok Sabha. This will also save country’s expenditure on the polling. “If the Congress is confident of winning the parliamentary polls, it should conduct simultaneous poll of Jharkhand Assembly.
Our nation is gripped with the wave of Narendra Modi and if the grand old party has the courage the party must also hold Jharkhand Assembly elections,” Das said. He went on to add that the performance of our party in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chattisgarh is a clear indication that the people have favoured Narendra Modi’s repeated appeal to created Congressfree government in the country.
Das also took a dig over the incident involving Congress MP L Rajagopal who used pepper spray in the House, leading to chaos after which some MPs came to blows. He called the incident a shame for Indian democracy. Speaking on the issues concerning the nation he said price rise had affected not only the economically weaker section, but also middle-class people. This is the prime reason why people want to oust the Congress.
He blamed the Union Government for it and vowed to intensify their agitation till steps were taken to control the increasing prices of essential commodities.
He went on to add that the Congress was also trying to repeat the same episode and bow down the state in corruption again. BJP, however, will not allow this to happen and will continue to demand immediate dissolution of the assembly to pave way of fresh elections. He also expressed concern over rising cases of accidents in the city.
Sharing information he said that 189 people were killed and 335 wounded in 2012 and in 2013, 184 people were killed and 389 injured. Das said that Tata Steel must take immediate step to set up Easter Corridor. He also demanded that the grade revision of Tata Steel must be for five years.
