Jamshedpur: The mood amongst the saffron party workers in Jamshedpur these days is upbeat as CM Raghubar Das is personally meeting every worker and individual voters taking out padhyatra and riding on two-wheelers with them. During his campaigning in the city, he has focused on door to door canvasing.
On Wednesday, party workers erupted into celebration mood as local five-time Jamshedpur East MLA CM took out a padyatra from his residence in Agrico.
Leaders of district BJP party along with hundreds of youth activists garlanded him and congratulated him. They said that he was the only leader from the State in the party to be the next CM.
As pillion rider on a two-wheeler, he covered various areas under his assembly seats and met with local people. People took selfies with him and accepted greetings from him. Jamshedpur East , the constituency presently represented by Das, virtually turned into a partying zone with people queuing up with him.
Das is known for his firebrand politics and, the one who is credited for ensuring mass development. “Some people have run hereditary politics for decades together and never cared for the development. The public wants us to form next Government and continue with the development programmes,” said Das.
No dobut Raghuwar Das has a good track record. In 2005 elections Das received 52.96 per cent votes while Congress opponent Ramashray Prasad 38 per cent in the year 2000 had received 63.9 per cent votes and K.P. Singh of Congress Party only 20.34 per cent.
Das said that he has served the people of Jamshedpur with heart and will continue to do so.
In 2014 Das won Jamshedpur East seat for the fifth time, defeating arch rival Congress candidate Anand Bihari Dubey by over 50,000 votes thanked voters and said that he will work for the development of the State. Das said that he has served the people of Jamshedpur with heart and soul and saw no reason why people will not elect him again.
Last evening, he also addressed a gathering of Sikh community at his residence and promised to continue to care for the people of the State. “We need to make people aware of the bold decisions taken by BJP government at center including abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and also about the welfare schemes for the poor instead of indulging in vote bank politics as was done for seven decades in the country. The Congress and JMM policies of cheating masses in the name of development and their interest in family politics should be exposed before the masses,” said Das addressing the gathering.
