Jamshedpur: Seraikela-Kharsawan Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan Wednesday said the upcoming Lok Sabha elections will not affect Chhau Mahotsava celebrations in the district. He said Chhau Mahotsava had the status of state holiday in Jharkhand and hence it will not be postponed.
The DC said the district administration would take the permission of the state government and the Election Commission of India before preparing plans for celebrations. He further said that Model Code of Conduct would be followed during the festival which has informally started on 7th March and would continue till 13th April.
