Jamshedpur : The police have detained five persons for interrogation in connection with the jeweller’s brutal murder at Bodam in Patamda.

Senior superintendent of police Amol V Homkar said that they are yet to crack the mystery of the gruesome murder but a girl might be the reason behind the murder which has been committed following a conspiracy.

The mutilated body of 27-year-old jeweller Santosh Kumar Verma, was found lying at a lone place known as Pakipani under Bodam police station area of Patamda on Friday. The body was later identified as that of the owner of Alankaar Jewellers of Mango.

“It is too early to comment as to what led to the murder. There was a missing report lodged with the Mango police station late last night, the Bodam police informed the Mango police which subsequently got the body identified,” he noted.

A resident of Dimna Road Santosh used to run his jewellery shop at Mango Chowk. He was missing from his shop from yesterday evening, one of his friends, lodged a missing report with the Mango police station.

Sources informed that the police are scanning his cell phone so to find a clue related to the gruesome murder.

” As per our initial investigation there must be some strong reasons behind the act, but as of now we have not found out any clue to the assailant. The act seems like a revenge,” noted a police official.

” We have detained four or five suspects for interrogation in connection to case, which might be due to transaction of money with the victim or even an affair,” said Homkar.

The senior SP pointed out that the call details records (CDR) of the suspects and that of the murder victim are being taken out, adding that once the CDRs are gathered, the police would be in better
position to detect the case.

According to police, the jeweller was killed not by any professional killer and he had been picked up by someone from his shop at Mango Chowk shortly before his murder under Bodam police station area.
