Jamshedpur : In a major breakthrough the district police on Friday arrested three persons, including a dreaded criminal who had looted Rs 3.83 lakh from a Ghatshilabased
rice trader at Sakchi market place on January 25.
During the hunt the police a;sp succeeded in recovering Rs 3.40 lakh of the looted amount
from one of the arrested persons and also recovered an SUV belonging to the trader.
Those arrested have been identified as Mohammed Ahsan Alam, a resident of Telco area and Kinkar Patro and Tufan Kalindi, both residents of Manohar Colony of Ghatshila.
In this connection, the rice trader Vishwanath Mandal had on Saturday lodged an FIR with the Sakchi police alleging unknown criminal to have abducted his driver Kinkar Patro after he
got call on his cell-phone that his driver has been abducted with the SUV.
The caller had allegedly demanded more money by threatening with dire consequence.
The senior superintendent of police, Amol V Homkar said that the trader’s own driver was hand
in glove with two others, including a former driver to loot the victim’s money in fraudulent way.
He pointed out that though they had nabbed Kinkar the same day the FIR was lodged, they
delayed in making the arrest of Kinkar public as they were trying to get hold of two more persons involved in the loot and also in recovering the looted amount.
Homkar said that on Saturday evening at 5.30 pm the rice trade r, who would run a whole-sale business of rice was collecting money from the retailers at Kadma, Sonari, Golmuri, Sakchi and Jugsalai marketplaces had gone to a retailer at Sakch market.
