Jamshedpur, July 14: Deputy Commissioner-cum- Chairman District Disaster Management Authority Ravi Shankar Shukla has passed an order that makes it compulsory for people coming into East Singhbhum district from other states to undergo COVID-19 tests and remain in state or paid quarantine till the arrival of reports. The directive was issued after joint discussions that deliberated on the fast spread of coronavirus infection in the district compounded by migrants coming in with many of them being coronavirus positive cases.

To prevent the infections catching on from migrants from other states to the district, the Deputy Commissioner-cum-Disaster Management Authority has put in place the order that such persons will have to mandatorily undergo COVID-19 tests and stay in state/paid quarantine centres till the arrival of the reports. The order is as per the purview of Epidemic Disease Act of 1897, The Jharkhand State Epidemic Disease (COVID-19) Regulation Act of 2020 and Disaster management Act of 2005.

All persons coming in through the borders of East Singhbhum district, have to report to the nearest institutional/paid quarantine centres for coronavirus tests before proceeding to their destinations. The interstate/inter district checkposts mentioned under serial numbers are: 1) Pardih Checkpost, 2) Sonari Domohani, 3) Adityapur (near the Kharkai River Bridge under JNAC, 4) Kadma Toll Bridge under JNAC, Katin Chowk, Bankura Road, Patamda, 6) Haldipokhar Chowk, Potka, 7) Hata Chowk, Potka, 8) Keshpur Checkpost, West Bagudia, Ghatshila, Jagannathpur, Bengal Road, Baharagora and 10) Kaliadia Odisha Road, Baharagora.

Notifications of quarantine centres setup have also been provided along with the order. The enlisted quarantine centres are: 1) Tata Steel Professional Flats, Inner Circle Road, Kadma, 2) Nepal Building, Telco, 3) Professional College, Sidgora, 4) Jamshedpur Cooperative College, 5) Rishi Bhawan, Jugsalai, 6) Constable Training Centre (CTC), Mosabani, 7) Project High School, Patamda, 8) Haldipokhar Institutional quarantine centre, 9) Mahulia High School, Mahulia, 10) High school, Baharagora, 11) Kasturba School, Baharagora and 12) HCL Guest House.

Nodal officers have been deputed to ensure strict implementation of the order. In case of violation of the order FIR will be filed under appropriate sections of The Jharkhand State Epidemic Disease (COVID-19) Regulation 2020 and Disaster Management Act of 2005. The District Education Officer (DEO) will be in charge of Control Room numbers 0657-2440111 and 8987510050. The overall charge of the Control Room will be with Senior in-charge Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order). The order will come into effect on and from July 15, 2020 and will be in force until further orders.
