Jamshedpur: People’s Association for Theatre (PATH) bagged the second place for their presentation of the play, “Do Kaudi ka Khel” directed by Md Nizam. Based on Berthold Brecht’s play, “The Three Penny Opera,” the play has been adapted in Hindi by Parimal Dutta.
The inter district drama competition was held at the State Museum in Khel Gaon.
The selection of the plays for the inter district competition was made on November 8 and 10 at the District Information Centre. The two selected teams reached Ranchi on November 12.
The first prize was won by the Palamau district team while the third place went to Hazaribagh district.
The main characters in the play “Do Kaudi ka Khel” included Md Nizam, Chhavi Das, Sanjay Dutta, Shina Sachdev, Shailendra Kumar, Akankchha Gupta, Saurav Patra, Rupesh Kumar, Anchit Tiwary, Manish Pathak, Manish Singh, Khurshid Alam, Gita Kumari, Abhishek Kumar, Priyanka Banerjee and Prem Dikshit.
The panel of judges presided by former director of Akashvani Ranchi AN Pandey included former director DD Ranchi BN Singh and popular filmmaker and theatre person Vinod Kumar.
