Jamshedpur, May 15: The well-known fan of the Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit, Pappu Sardar celebrated his idol’s birthday by spreading message of social distancing and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene. With shutters of his famous Manohar Chat down due to lockdown, Pappu celebrated the occasion with a cake cutting ceremony at his own house in Kashidih without any gathering. Along with cake, decorative also included masks, sanitisers and handwash. A cake cutting ceremony was also organised at Cheshire Home for the inmates.   

“First of all I prayed to Lord Ganesha and performed rituals with a hope that the lord will bring an end to the spread of coronavirus. I shun public gathering and made sure that my well-wishers maintained distance,” said Pappu, wearing a mask. He said that the idea is to spread awareness in the society that people should follow hygienic lifestyle.  

 Amidst on going lockdown in view of coronavirus, Madhuri Dixit’s fan Pappu Sardar is also playing a lead role by feeding animals and birds. During the lockdown of the city enforced in the wake of the spread of novel corona, Pappu can be seen feeding to animals and birds at Sakchi, Bistupur and other key areas these days.  He has also appealed to the animal welfare workers and general public to take care of the animals during this period.

Pappu has been celebrating Dixit’s birthday since 1996. His dedication to the star has no limits. Earlier his neighbours used to consider him crazy, but now they eagerly wait for the annual event, and wholeheartedly join in the revelries.

Like thousands of others, Pappu Sardar idolises Bollywood actor Madhuri Dixit. But he is a unique member of her fan club in that he has taken it upon himself to reach out to those in need while dedicating the service to her.
