District administration issues instructions for puja committees
Jamshedpur, Sept. 24 : District administration has asked Durga Puja committees to refrain from playing obscene dance or vulgar songs.
East Singhbhum senior SP, Anoop T Mathew in a joint meeting of district administration, Central Durga Puja Committee (CDPC) and Peace Committee at Michael John Auditorium in Bistupuron Sunday afternoon gave instructions that if any DJ found playing loud music with vulgar contents they will face the music.
The meeting was presided over deputy commissioner Amit Kumar and attended by Mathew, additional district magistrate (law and order) Subodh Kumar, Dhalbhum sub-divisional officer Prabhat Kumar, deputy superintdents of police, CDPC president Arun Singh, Jusco general manager CaptDhanajany Mishra and members of Peace Committee.
Mathew said that the administration has directed the police to ensure that noise pollution levels come down in the city. “Apart from a cause of concern for senior citizens most examinations are scheduled to begin from this month itself. It is noticed that people organise religious and cultural events during this season and use loud speakers and amplifiers till late hours, making it difficult for the students to concentrate. That will not be allowed,” he noted.
Mathew also informed that the Puja revelerscan dial 100 for the police assistance within five minutes. He said the Puja revelers may go around for pandal-hopping till late in the night free from any kind of worry and their security will be taken care of by the police personnel who are in service.
CaptDhananjayMishra senior DGM Jusco informed that the utility company was keen to turn DomuhaniGhat a model ghat especially for immersion purpose. He said if the utility company was holding talks with the East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Amit Kumar in this regard and by next year a model ghat may get ready at Domuhani.
DC Amit Kumar directed police officials to take necessary measures to prevent any inconveniences to the people. The DC said the police personnel will be deputed in large numbers to keep an eye on troublemongers. Magistrates have been deputed at various places to make sure that peace is kept round the clock.
Since forcible donation from the community has been a problem for puja committees, the apex body has asked the committees to cut down on unnecessary show off and try for simpler puja which would have the basic necessities.
The Samity has asked the committees to stay away from forced donation from traders and residents. The committees were also asked to be prepared to combat with any emergency including fire safety.
