Jamshedpur, Dec 30: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy thanked the voters of his constituency for supporting him in the Assembly elections on Monday. He felicitated his supporters and election workers at a function organized at Town Hall, Sidhgora. Many dignitaries including representatives of various social organizations and local residents were present during the event.
In his address, Roy said providing ownership right to the residents of 86 bastis of Jamshedpur was a challenge. He said he would take initiative to provide ownership rights to the residents on a priority basis very soon. He said he would give suggestions on resolving the issue to Chief Minister Hemant Soren and the state Urban Development Minister.
“When Prime Minister can give ownership right to the residents of New Delhi and adjoining areas, the same can be done in Jharkhand. Law should be enacted to solve this problem. A date should be fixed to pave way for an amicable solution. The ownership right is not only relevant in Jamshedpur, but is also relevant for Ranchi, Bokaro, Dhanbad and Dumka. There are a large number of people who have invested the earning of their lifetime in their houses. They cannot be ousted from their houses,” said Roy.
Other dignitaries present during the programme included Ramnarayan Sharma, Ajay Sinha, Shambhunath Singh, Chandragupta Singh, AK Srivastava, Subodh Srivastava, Kavita Parmar, Manju Singh, Satish Gupta, Amulyo Karmakar, Beauty Tiwary, Ratan Mahato, RK Dubey, Dhanjee Pandey and Manoj Singh Ujjain.
Will take initiative for revival of sick companies
Roy said he would take initiative to revive ailing industries, especially INCAB. He said he would first get himself acquainted with the geography of the entire constituency and then take initiative. He said a blueprint should be chalked out to ensure overall development of the entire constituency.
Jamshedpur should become municipal corporation
Roy said Jamshedpur should be made a municipal corporation. He said Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee was unconstitutional. He said the state government should exclude an industrial area and declare rest of the area as municipal corporation. The people of Jamshedpur should also have a third voting right, he said. He said Mango had become a municipal corporation, but elections were not held till date.
Hemant Soren a nice man
Roy said Chief Minister Hemant Soren is a good-hearted man. He said Jharkhand Mukti Morcha should not forget that all residents of the state were ‘Jharkhandis’. He said he was happy being an Independent legislator. He said he had given moral support to the state government, but would always oppose anti-public policies.
Will be accessible to people
Roy said he will always be available to the people of his constituency. He said the BJP had ousted several people from the party in the name of disciplinary action. He said he a large number of party workers were with him and that the party did not have courage to expel them all. He said he had never spoken against the party or its leaders.
