Jamshedpur: As per the directive of Chief Minister and MLA Raghubar Das, a statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose will be erected at a site near the Bagunnagar Durga Puja Maidan. The MLA representative Pawan Agrawal paid floral homage to Netaji before the leader’s photograph and laid the foundation stone at the site where the statue will be installed.
Speaking on the occasion Agrawal said, “Netaji was one of the heroes of the freedom movement. The country bows to the sacrifice that he made for the nation’s freedom from British rule. The statue of Netaji Subhas Bose will remind the future generation of his supreme sacrifice for the country’s freedom.”
The legislator’s representative informed that the statue and platform will cost Rs 4 lakh.
Other projects were also launched by Pawan Agrawal today. They include construction of roads near the Nav Jivan Flat, Bagunnagar Gandhi Marg, Bagunhatu Chowk and construction of a drain at Neem Bhatti. The construction cost would be provided from the MLA fund and the Urban Development Department.
The program was conducted by BJP Mandal president Santosh Thakur.
State Minorities Commission member Achintam Gupta too expressed his views during Netaji’s birth anniversary function. Among others present on the occasion were Arun Tiwary, Jivan Sahu, Kanchan Dutta, Rakesh Singh, Ashok Barua, Bishu Das, Mukesh Mundari, Subhash Singh Sardar and Mukta Namta.
