Jamshedpur: An oath-taking ceremony was organized for the National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets at Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial (LBSM) College, Karandih, on Saturday. As many as 50 new cadets were administered oath by the Principal Dr Amar Singh. The chief guest of the occasion was Sanatan Majhi, founder of the college. He inspected the NCC parade. Potka MLA Menka Sardar was also present during the programme.

Addressing the cadets, Majhi said the youths had a vital role to play in putting an end to corruption, addiction and communal hatred. He said the cadets should inculcate noble values in themselves in order to maintain the country’s integrity and unity. He said the NCC wing of the college was started in the year 2000. He praised the cadets for working in Swachh Bharat campaign.

The Principal too, praised the NCC cadets and stressed on maintaining discipline and sincerity.

A cultural programme was held on the occasion. The participants presented Santhali and Nagpuri dance, captivating one and all.

The dignitaries present during the programme included Purushottam Singh, Dr RK Choudhary, Dr Vinod Kumar, Vinay Kumar Gupta, Dr LC Das, Sourabh Verma, AK Singh, Dr Kanchan Mala, Preeti Gupta, Rani, Shobha Devi and Dr Deep Jai.
