Jamshedpur: The city police today conducted flag march in view of Muharram which will be observed in the city tomorrow. Police officials informed that over 600 police personnel have been deployed in view of the celebration.

The Muslim populated areas like Jugsalai, Mango and Sakchi are decked up with religious flags and hording. Leading religious scholars would highlight the life of the Holy Prophet in different congregations. The Muslim community will organise a procession.

People from Azadnagar, Jugsalai, Golmuri, Bistupur, Shastrinagar, Kitadih, Makadmpur will join procession and will lead to Sakchi Aamgbagan.

Senior SP Anoop Birtharay said that adequate number of RAF have been deployed at strategic locations at Sakchi, Bistupur and Mango areas of the city , from where the procession was supposed to pass. ” We will focus on  the procession and it was not possible for us  to provide security  at every part of the city,” he said.

The East Singhbhum district administration has made special plans in view of Muharram procession in the city. Apart from barricading of roads passing through communally sensitive areas at Sakchi, Bhalubasa, Dhatkidih, Mango and Jugsalai the no-entry of heavy vehicles would be barred for whole day on Muharram procession.

  “The magistrates and police officials of 25 zones (in terms of police stations) and six super zones (cluster of police stations) have been asked to pass on the directive of the administration regarding traffic plans to the respective Durga puja committees and Muharram akhara committees before hand to avoid confusion,’ said Dhalbhum SDO Suraj Kumar.

 As per the new traffic plans during the puja festivity vehicles going from Baridih and Sidhgora towards Sakchi will be diverted through Kumharpara and Baradwari Telephone Exchange Road.Those going from Sakchi and Mango towards Baridih and Sidhgora will have to pass through Bhuiyandih.
