Jamshedpur: The MP of Jamshedpur Dr Ajay Kumar today appeared before the court with a plea for bail in a case lodged against him for blocking the National Highway 33 under the economic blockade programme of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha. His bail plea was accepted by the court.
The move by the MP comes in the wake of the declaration of Lok Sabha dates by the Election Commission. JVM has launched an intensive election campaign to secure its win in the elections. The MP too, has started his campaign to meet the voters ahead of the polls.
The bail plea was moved in view of the Model Code of Conduct ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in line with the directions of the Election Commission of India.
An FIR was lodged against the JVM leader and several other activists of the party in several police stations of the city in connection with the agitation programme. The case was lodged against the MP under Section 143, 323, 342 and 353 of IPC with the Mango police station.
Dr Kumar appeared before the court of the First Class Judicial Magistrate Manoranjan Kumar and filed his bail plea. Advocate Sudhir Kumar Pappu advocated for the MP. The court granted bail to the JVM leader.
