Jamshedpur: The district administration is all set to observe International Yoga Day on June 21 in which more than 4000 people are expected to participate. Addressing the press conference deputy commissioner Amit Kumar said that the district level main function will be organised in Gopal Maidan, Bistupur from 6:30 am in the morning to 7:30 am. However in case of bad weather the district administration will shift the programme to Mohan Ahuja stadium as an alternate venue. People coming beyond 6:30 am will be denied entry
He informed that instructions have been given to distribute subdivision level and separate block and Panchayat level. Yoga Day will be organised by various industrial houses in their respective establishments.
Deputy Commissioner informed that in the district level main event, more than four thousand people from NSS, Nehru Youth Center, Civil Defence, Red Cross and people of all sections of society will participate.
The East Singhbhum district education officer (DEO), Shivendra Kumar have been asked to mobilise school students of class VII and above to participate in the yoga day at the Gopal Maidan. Students of various colleges have also been asked to participate on the day.
The asanas that would be performed will be tarasan, vrikshashan, padmasan pranayam, other asanas for neck, shoulder and knee. The yoga will culminate with meditation.
The East Singhbhum district education department has also directed all government schools to perform the 33-minute yoga session. Private English medium schools are also planning to ask children and teachers to promote yoga for a healthy life. The district education department have already received directives from the central government to let children perform yoga on the day.
It is healthy and most of the institutions and organisation in the city will celebrate the International Yoga Day on June 21.
