Moharda Water Supply Scheme: Flaws in the agreement between the State Government and Jusco, says Saryu

Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, Kolhan No Comments on Moharda Water Supply Scheme: Flaws in the agreement between the State Government and Jusco, says Saryu 106

Jamshedpur, July 11: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy has said that are many flaws in the Moharda Water Supply Scheme agreement signed between the state government and Jusco ( now Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited), which will be resolved soon.

Moharda water supply scheme designed for drinking water supply in Bardih, Bagunhatu, Bagunanagar, Birsnagar, Moharda etc. has been operating since 2017 by Jusco. There was an agreement between Jusco and the Jharkhand government’s Municipal Development Department for its operation, stating that the scheme would be operational only after fixing the water supply fee, but the then Jharkhand government did the project without amending the drinking water supply rate.

Now Jusco is talking about amending the water supply fee. On July 7, there was a meeting at Circuit House. It was found that the previous government had constituted an authority for amendment of water and drinking water tariff, which had fixed the supply charge, but the previous government did not release its notice. Jusco wants the current government to issue this information. Jusco is not paying the electricity charges of the Moharda Water Supply Scheme to the state government due to non-supply charges.

“I will try to get rid of this deadlock between the government and Jusco soon. I will talk to the city development secretary and the city development minister about this. If this is resolved, then the electricity supply of Jusco will start the Mohada drinking water supply. For this, the electricity department is also ready to give NOC,” said Roy.
