Potka, July 15: A one day workshop was organized in the Potka police station premises to create awareness against mob lynching. Rural SP Piyush Pandey, Musabani DSP Pitambar Singh Kharbar, BDO Kapil Kumar and Circle Officer Baleshwar Ram were present on the occasion.
Speaking during the inauguration of the workshop Rural SP Piyush Pandey observed that mob Lynching was not the killing of an individual but of mankind as a whole. He said, “It is human culture to ensure peace and amicability in the community and not to disturb communal amity. There are some people in the community who are anti socials and always try to create disharmony. But fortunately, we are responsible citizens and we should make it our responsibility to maintain communal peace.”
The Rural SP said that people have no right to take law into their own hands but it is only the judicial system that can dispense justice. Law is equal for all he stated. “You should refrain from paying heed to rumors. If someone commits any wrong deeds he should be handed over to the legal authorities. The government machinery is in place to tackle law and order problems. Support the administration,” he said.
The Rural SP heard problems of villagers and assured them of all possible help. Also present at the inauguration of the one day workshop were Potka PS OC Ashok Ram, Zila Parishad member Hiramani Murmu, former ZP member Karunamay Mandal, 20 point implementation committee president Manoj Ram, Mukhiya Savitri Sardar, Pano Sardar, Diapantari Sardar, Biltu Hansda, former Mukhiya Raju Sardar and Hopna Mahali.
