Jamshedpur, Feb. 12: DIG Kolhan Saket Kumar Singh on Monday evening started a fresh probe into the rape of a 17-year-old girl at Mango. He met the alleged victim and took her detailed version. Later, he spoke to senior police officials and issued instructions to them regarding investigation. SSP Anoop Birtharay was also present on the occasion.
The DIG ordered a speedy probe into the rape case after meeting the victim, her mother and employer Nanak Chandra Seth.
“It is too early to comment but we are probing the incident and we will go through its every aspect,” said the cop.
The victim’s mother, a resident of Potka block, had on January 19 last lodged an FIR in this connection with the Mango PS against Indrapal Singh Saini, Shiv Kumar Mahto and Santosh Mahto. The accused persons allegedly used a video clip to blackmail the victim after commission of the crime.
Later, the victim had revealed that the officer in-charge of MGM PS had raped her at the police station. She had also accused the Patamada DSP (now transferred) of molesting her. Police have so far only arrested Saini.
Meanwhile, former CM Arjun Munda also met the victim today and promised to help her get justice. The victim who worked as a maid in the house of a businessman at Sahara City was reportedly raped by three persons.
As the matter came to the notice of the house owner, Nanak Chandra Seth, he made the victim’s mother, who is a resident of Kawali in Potka block, to lodge an FIR against the accused persons.
