Jamshedpur, Aug. 22 : A middle-aged man Santosh Sao (38) was robbed of Rs 15,000 cash, and was also kicked off from the running auto-rickshaw on Station-Jugsalai-Bistupur road at Jugsalai at about 4.30 am on Thursday.
The victim rushed to the MGM Medical College Hospital for the treatment of injury in the hand and head.
Sao who is a resident of Shastrinagar in Kadma got down from the Howrah-Ahmedabad Express at about 4 am and boarded an auto-rickshaw for Kadma.
“I am still in state of shock the way I was treated. As I entered the auto, apart from the auto-driver, there was already another youth sitting in the rear seat. As the vehicle moved toward a wrong direction at Jugsalai instead of going toward Kadma route, I objected to the driver. Suddenly, the youth sitting beside me hit my head with his cellphone and took out a dagger. As I held his hand to stop him, the youth pulled back his hand and my right hand was cut. Then he snatched my bag and kicked me away from the auto-rickshaw,” narrated Shao.
His wife subsequently arranged an auto-rickshaw from the neighbourhood and ultimately reached the medical college hospital.
Sao said he would work as a labour at Howrah station and maintains his family of four — wife and two children at a rented house at Shastrinagar.
OC, Jugsalai police station , Rajendra Kumar Das said they will start investigation and detect the case once any complaint is lodged with the Jugsalai police station
