Jamshedpur, Sept. 29: On the occasion of World Blood Donation Day on 1st October 2020, the East Singhbhum Chapter of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) is organizing a mega Blood Donation Camp.
Bearing in mind the scarcity of blood the Jamshedpur Blood Bank is facing due to COVID19 pandemic induced restrictions, IRCS has regularly conducted blood donation camps to meet the shortfall of blood. It is with this endeavour and also to commemorate the World Blood Donation Day, IRCS has embarked upon to organize this Blood Donation Camp on a large scale.
The Camp, which is scheduled to be held from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm on 1st October 2020 at the Red Cross Bhawan, Sakchi, is expected to see a heavy footfall and help in collecting maximum units of blood. While IRCS has made all arrangements to conduct the camp successfully, including provision for maintaining social distance, sanitization etc. Bijay Kumar Singh, Hony Secretary, IRCS, has appealed to all blood donors to visit the Camp and donate blood which will indeed help the Jamshedpur Blood Bank during this crisis. Singh has also requested the volunteers of IRCS to extend assistance to make the Camp a success. He has also made a fervent appeal to the youth of Jamshedpur to donate blood in this camp.
