Samadhan to organize fifth mass wedding ceremony on Nov 17

Jamshedpur: Social organization, ‘Samadhaan’ is gearing up for holding its fifth community marriage ceremony. The organization has been deep into organizational work since the past four months to hold this auspicious event which will be their fifth endeavor in this realm.
The ‘Panigrahan’ event will be held for the 15 identified couples on Sunday, November 17. Prior to this, on Saturday, November 16 evening, the traditional Mehendi, Haldi and Sangeet ceremony will be organized, said Dinesh Kumar, Patron of Samadhaan.
Addressing a press meet at a city hotel on Wednesday, Kumar informed that baraat on e-rickshaw will be taken out on November 17. He said preparations for the mass wedding are in full swing. Samadhan is organizing the event to help under-privileged girls get married.
Earlier, Dinesh Kumar gave the couples, their parents and guardians and volunteers all necessary directives. Responsibilities for arrangement of lights, tent, decoration, welcome and cultural events were distributed among volunteers, he added.
This will be the fifth consecutive year where couples will get married in a mass marriage ceremony at Sonemandap and Town Hall Ground in the Sidhgora Surya Mandir. The idea is to spread awareness in the society, said a member of the organisation.
From 2015 Samadhan has been organising mass marriage for those couples who cannot afford the expenses of a marriage. This year to the organisation chose 15 eligible couples who will tie the knot on November 17.
Also present at the press meet were Bina Arun Khirwal, Samadhaan members Harjit Bhatia, Kuljit Sadana, Amita Mahendru, Punam Sahu, Gita Wagadia, Ankit Anand.
