Jamshedpur : Loyola School team won the JRD Tata inter-school quiz contest, which was organised by Tata Steel at Motilal Nehru Public School on Wendesday. Gayatri Singh, wife of Amitabh Kaushal, deputy commissioner, East Singhbhum was the chief guest at the inter school competition.
A total of 143 teams from 35 schools in Jamshedpur participated in the quiz. The quiz was conducted by Lloyd Saldhana of Grey Caps.
Loyola School, Rajendra Vidyalaya, Sacred Heart Convent School, DAV Public School, Bistupur; St. Mary’s English School and SDSM School of Excellence reached the final round on stage after the prelims.
After a tough quiz, the team from Loyola School won the quiz followed by Rajendra Vidyalaya and Sacred Heart Convent School. There was a tie breaker round between Sacred Heart Convent School and DAV Public School, Bistupur at the end.
The winners—Loyola School won a cash prize of Rs 10,000 followed by Rajendra Vidyalaya with Rs 8,000 and Sacred Heart Convent School won Rs 6000 as the second runners up.
The other finalists also received a cash prize of Rs 2000. Lloyd Saldanha from Greycaps conducted the quiz.
Apart from the cash prize, the winners and runners-up were rewarded with joy ride in the Company aircraft.
