Jamshedpur, Aug 30: Loyola School was crowned the champion of the inter-school quiz competition ‘Quizcon’ 2019 hosted by Rajendra Vidyalaya School in its auditorium on Thursday. After rounds of intense battle, Loyola School team scored 40 points followed by Sri Krishna Public School which 30 points and were declared the runners-up. The third spot was bagged by students from Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya scoring 25 points in the competition. Renowned quizmaster Giri Balasubramaniam, also known as ‘Pickbrain’ conducted the quiz. Total of 100 students representing 21 schools of Jamshedpur participated in ‘Quizcon’ 2019. Hill Top School was fourth scoring 20 points while Sacred Heart Convent School was fifth with 10 points.
Earlier, Chandra Prakash Narayan Singh, secretary, Bihar Association inaugurated the competition. Addressing the gathering, Singh said, this type of event develops healthy competition among school students. Principal Rakhi Banerjee and vice Principal Vijay Kumar Pandey welcomed the quiz master Giri Balasubramaniam. Anjan Bhardawaj introduced the quiz master. The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony were CPN Singh, school managing committee secretary Vivekanand and Principal Rakhi Banerjee handed over the trophies to the winners.
Later, quizmaster Giri Balasubramaniam said, “I have visited Jamshedpur several times and every single occasion the students of this city have surprised with their extraordinary talent. There is no doubt that schools in Jamshedpur are imparting quality academic education among students”.
