Jamshedpur, Jan. 16: Two Moksha Vahan (Hearse) handed over to Lions Fraternity of Jamshedpur by Dr Maheshwar Prasad, Civil Surgeon, East Singhbhum have become operational.
Moksha Vahan has been provided in each District by Ministry of Health, Jharkhand.
Lions of Jamshedpur within a week have also helped two grieved families in carrying the bodies from hospital to their place and also from place of residence to cremation place.
The vehicles which were lying idle for several months in Sadar Hospital premises were handed over to the Lions in November last year. Though Lions were keen to operate the much required vehicles but were unable to do so as necessary registration and insurance papers were not provided and after much follow up from Civil Surgeon end, the relevant papers finally came from Ranchi last month. The vehicles too needed some repairs as cables were eaten away by rats while they were lying idle for months
The two Moksha Vahan bearing registration numbers- JH 01DM 7090 and JH 01DM 5156 is now available and one who need can call up any of the three numbers 9507525503 / 6202882694 / 7903756859 belonging to drivers and Lion Subrato Dey, Past President of Lions Club of Jamshedpur Tatanagar.
The services will be provided free to all death taking place in BPL families who dies in any Government Medical College and Hospital / Sadar Hospital for which government will make reimbursement and rest can be charged as per the government guidelines for use of the facility.
Lions District Governor Sanjiv Poddar and Past District Governor Rajnish Kumar coordinated with the Health Ministry, Jharkhand and District Administration in using this facility provided by the Government.
