Play back singer says potential singers want to become stars overnight
Jamshedpur, Aug 12: Singer-lyricist-composer Kailash Kher on Monday said that our government has taken a historic decision to scrap Article 370 and 35A which has helped eliminate the persisting 70-year-old leprosy like situation in the country. Kashmiri Pandits can now make their way back to the valley.
The Sufi singer arrived in Jamshedpur on Monday afternoon. Addressing the media at a city hotel this afternoon ahead of his concert in the evening, the Bollywood playback singer praised Narendra Modi and Amit Shah for taking such a massive decision as the whole country was on tenterhooks. “We used to hear that from Kashmir to Kanyakumari India is one but in the valley the flag was also different. Now our country will become ‘Akhand Bharat’ or Undivided India. Artcile 370 was removed last Monday which is also the day of Lord Shankar and this has been made possible because of the large hearted Narendra Modi and Amit Shah”, he added.
Sharing his love for the homeland, the
Padmashri winner said that he would not like to build a home there but would
like to set a music academy, Kala Dhaam as his roots are in the valley.
Kailash has been impressed with the divine beauty of Kashmir and this finds mention in one of the songs in his album ‘Rangeele,’ the song being ‘Yadaan Teriyan’ with the backdrop of Kashmir in the video.
Kher also narrated apoem he had composed and put n his twitter handle after the scrapping of Article 370. Through the poem he has taken a dig at the previous Congress led government saying, “Those who were in power at the centre studied at Harvard but were zero on the performance level.”.
With his powerful voice and his unique style of music, Kher has established himself as one of the most popular singers not only in India but abroad too. His growing fan following across all age groups is evidence to this fact.
The Padma Shri singer is in Jamshedpur to partcipate in a cultural soiree organised by Har Har Mahadev Seva Sangh at Sakchi Gurudwara ground today which is the last Monday of the holy month of Sawan. Kailash was of the opinion that he would have been a neem or pipal tree if not a singer because these two trees exhale oxygen 24 hours of the day.
The Filmfare awardee launches a band every year on his birthday (July 7) and has launched three bands. He said that most artistes, IPS, IAS officers and leaders come out from small towns and villages.
Replying to a query, Kher said today’s trend is kind of weird as people who take up singing as career want to become stars overnight instead of becoming effective singers. “Patience, discipline and hardwork are the main ingredients that create a great singer. Reality shows are part of consumerism and building a brand which can be levelled down only by the audience. Till we subscribe to such shows consumerism will prevail.”.
Kailash Kher has sung more than 1200 songs in 25 different languages. He and his band Kailasa have performed over 1300 concerts across the globe. In a span of 14 years he has travelled half of the world. It may be noted that Abhishek Mukherjee and Rachit Agarwal of Dhanbad are part of the AI Divine Band and they performed during the concert on Monday.
On special request by the mediapersons, he concluded the press meet by setting the stage on fire with his hit Sufi number,’Allah Ke Bande.’
Also present at the press conference was founder President of Har Har Mahadev Seva Sangh Amarpreet Singh Kale.
