Jamshedpur: A delegation of Utkal Samaj members today met DC Amit Kumar regarding allotment of land for the construction of a Jagannath Temple.
It may be mentioned here that the Utkal Samaj had already requested the state government for allotment of land for construction of Jagannath Temple in Jamshedpur. Delegations of the Samaj had also met Governor Droupadi Murmu in this regard on several occasions.
In the light of the state government’s directives in this regard, two government sites have been offered for the construction of the Temple. It wa now for the Utkal Samaj to decide on the better option for construction of the Jagannath Mandir. After selection the district administration will start the process of transfer of the selected plot of land.
The meeting was held in the DC’s chamber at the Jamshedpur Collectorate.
After the meeting, the Utkal Samaj delegation led by the DC inspected the proposed sites.
