Jamshedpur, June 30: The entire state of Jharkhand observed Hul Divas sans the usual festivities because of the prevailing pandemic situation worldwide. Along with the state all the three districts, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Saraikela-Kharsawan of Kolhan Region, observed Hul Divas in a simple manner as people paid tributes to the revolutionaries Sidho-Kanhu, Chand-Bhairav and Phulo-Jhano who blew the bugle of Santal revolution against the British Rulers to free their land of the Raj and take back their ‘Jal-Jungle-Zameen’ which was rightfully theirs and handed down through generations by their forefathers.
People paid floral tributes to the martyrs of the Santal revolution. They pledged to realize their dreams of a progressive Jharkhand and contented people. In Saraikela, Jharkhand Minister Champai Soren offered floral tributes to martyrs of Santal Revolution, Sidho-Kanhu at the Uddyan named after the revolutionaries. Social distancing was observed during the simple ceremony to mark Hul Divas.
Senior BJP leader Bharat Singh paid floral tributes to the Hul revolutionaries in his Sakchi office on the occasion today.
The Jharkhand Pradesh Youth Congress committee led by state secretary Rakesh Sahu garlanded the statues of Sidho-Kanhu at Bhuinyadih Chowk. Rich tributes were paid to the martyrs on the occasion. The YC team included general secretary Dr Paritosh Singh, Vijay Yadav, Bharat Singh, Baldev Singh, Arun Patel, Asish Thakur, Sultan Ahmad, Pravin Mahanand, Bablu Naushad, Mukesh Yadav, Pawan Tiwary, Kishan Singh, Nitesh Kumar, Sitaram Chowdhary and others.
Chaibasa Dist Congress
The Chaibasa Congress District Committee members on the occasion of Hul Kranti Divas paid rich tributes to the immortal Santal revolutionaries Sidhu-Kanhu, Chand-Bhairav and Phulo-Jhano and their portraits done in oil paint were garlanded by all present at the Congress Bhawan. Among those present were parliamentarian Gita Koda, Neela Nag, Dinabandhu Boipoi, Punam Hembram, Krishna Soy, Trishanu Roy, Shakila Bano, Mukesh Kumar, Raj Kumar Rajak, BN Purty, Razia Khatun, Vikas Verma, Jagdish Sundi, Rakesh Singh and Sushil Kumar Singh.
Dist Congress Committee
The East Singhbhum Congress district committee led by president Bijay Khan garlanded the statues of Santal revolutionaries Sidhu-Kanhu at Dimna on Hul Kranti divas. Ravishankar KP, Maulana Ansar Khan, Munna Mishra, Baldev Singh, Pawan Bihari Ojha and other party members were present on the occasion.
Sakchi Block Cong Committee
Sakchi Block Congress committee president along with other party members garlanded the life size statues of Santal revolutionaries Sidhu-Kanhu and offered tributes. Among those present on the occasion were party’s district president Vijay Khan, Prince Singh, Riyazuddin Khan, Navin Mishra, Niraj Singh, Amit Raj, Niraj Sahu, Manna Singh, Kumar Ramesh, Dipak Singh, Mayank Pratap Singh, Awtar Singh and others.
Hul Divas was celebrated in a very simple manner in Jadugoda and nearby areas. The main programme was organized by Sidhu-Kanhu Smarak Samiti in association with the people of Mechua village. The statues of Sidhu-Kanhu were worshipped at the Morh Chowk and garlanded. Adivasi leader Kumar Chandra Mardi speaking on the occasion, said, “In order to realize the dreams of the Santal revolutionaries for the rights to Jal, Jungle, Zameen, another Hul is needed.” Those present on the occasion included Mangal Soren, Kushal Soren, Sudhir Soren, Karu Soren, Ghasia Baskey including all the villagers of Mechua who successfully organized the Hul Divas celebration.
BJM Olidih unit
Bharatiya Jan Morcha Olidih unit today observed Hul Divas. The BJM members garlanded the statue of the brave and immortal Sidhu-Kanhu near the Dimna Lake. The BJM members included Mukul Mishra, Kulvinder Singh Pannu, Pravin Singh, Akash Shah, Dharmendra Prasad, Santosh Bhagat, Rina Singh, Sushila Singh, Rajesh Kumar and Rajdip Dutta.
Samajik Seva Sangh
The members of Samajik Seva Sangh observed Hul Kranti Divas by garlanding the statues of revolutionaries Sidhu-Kanhu at Birsanagar. Incense sticks were lighted on the occasion. The Sangh team that paid tribute to the immortal Santal revolution martyrs included Rajesh Samant, Nawal Kishore Paswan, Mohan Bhagat, Gram Pradhan Gora Majhi, Sudhakar Lohra, Pradip Mahto, Sonu Kumar Srivastav, Kaushal Srivastav, Raja Kalindi and Gopal Karmakar.
Bagbera Block Congress
Bagbera Block Congress unit leaders today paid homage to immortal martyrs Sidhu-Kanhu at the ground named after the Santal revolutionaries. Kamlesh Kumar Pandey, Amar Kumar Mishra and Sanjay Jha offered floral tributes. Party’s Block president Vipin Thakur, Brajendra Tiwary, Ramdas Chowdhary, Sanjay Jha, Raman khan, Pramod Mishra, raj Narayan Yadav, Mukesh Jha, Om Ji, Chandan Kumar, Shubham Jha, Prince Singh, Rajendra Rai and Md Sagir were present on the occasion.
National Congress Party
NCP Youth wing district president Vivek Singh led a team of party members to the Bhuinyadih three-point crossing and offered floral tributes on the occasion of Hul Divas. The team included Dipak Majumdar, Rahul Singh, Kanhai Gorai, Shubhodip Bose, Saurabh Singh, Sunil, Shiv Kumar Pandey, Chandan Singh, Navin, Satyam, Gautam, Sagar, Prince Gupta and others.
OSHAJ distributes food essentials
Members of the Occupational Safety and Health Association of Jharkhand (OSHAJ) distributed food essentials among needy families on the occasion of Hul Kranti Divas. The team members included Samit Kumar, Manoj Kerai, Monika Karmakar, Rashmi Das, Sweety Biruli, Saraswati Kalundia, Priti Kumari, Sulekha Kumari, Mausam Kumari, Bulu Singh, Sumitra Dhibar and others.

Jugsalai legislator mangal Kalindi, while offering his tributes to revolutionaries Sidhu-Kanhu on the occasion of Hul Divas observed at the Sukdadih, Topodungri, Haludbani Sidhu-Kanhu Chowk and in the secretariat of Ghantitola Panchayat, “The first revolution to reclaim ownership of Jal, Jungle, Zameen is known and observed as Hul Divas. We have to stand up and claim our rights and for that we have to follow the ideals of revolutionaries and martyrs Sidhu-Kanhu. These brave, fearless revolutionaries had sacrificed their lives for these rights.”
