Seraikela, June 23: A consensus over compensation and other benefits was reached today between JMT Auto Limited and the dependents of Dhano Mardi, a worker who died on duty on the company premises Saturday last.
Sources said both sides agreed on a compensation of Rs 8 lakh along with an ex gratia payment of Rs 15,000 for funeral for the next of kin of the deceased. A temporary job would also be given to one dependent of the deceased, sources said.
Mardi had fallen from height in the plant. He was taken to TMH where he died during treatment. Irked over the death, the relatives of the deceased created ruckus in the hospital and demanded job, compensation and other benefits for his dependents.
Mardi was a resident of Ranidih under Bagbera PS area.
