Jamshedpur, Sept. 19: The eight-long National Khadi Mela that started at Gopal Maidan on Sunday is getting an overwhelming response in the city. On Tuesday, the cultural evening was inaugurated by ADM Subodh Kumar and executive magistrate Sanjay Kumar.
Present on the occasion Khadi board member Kulwant Singh Bunty introduced the artists to the gathering. The cultural event started with the dance presentation on ‘Deva Ganpati Deva’. Mahua Channel fame Jyoti Sahu presented religious songs along with Nagpuri songs which was enjoyed by the crowd which was present in large number.
This was followed by presentation from artists of Ranchi and Khunti. At the event Kulwant Singh Bunty felicitated the artists by offering them Khadi shawls and said that soon we will be organising a fashion show based on khadi apparels.
It may be noted that Jharkhand State Khadi Board is organising the Khadi Mela from September 17 to 24. More than 300 stalls have been put in which buyers can look forward for items like khadi, wood crafts, terracotta, stone crafts, handlooms, jewellery, bamboo craft, metal craft, jute and tribal paintings among other items which will be on display for sale. The products will be available at discount of 25 to 30 per cent.
