Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) leaders huddled together to chalk out strategy for the Lok Sabha elections at the Jamshedpur constituency here on Wednesday during a meeting of party’s election conduct committee held at Rajasthan Bhavan, Bistupur.
Addressing the meeting, the party candidate from Jamshedpur Dr Ajay Kumar said the party should depute 25 youths at each booth in Jamshedpur on the day of polling on 17th April. The party workers should be provided campaign material so that they may expedite work on election. All volunteers should create awareness among voters for exercising their right to vote without fail, he said.
“We should make every possible attempt to make sure that people caste vote to elect their representative. All communities should be targeted under the awareness campaign. No candidate should be undermined. Instead of pointing out drawbacks in other candidates, we should leave it at the will of the voters,” said Dr Kumar.
Dr Ajay appealed to party workers to remain in discipline and not violate Model Code of Conduct norms under any circumstances. Party activists have been asked to gather at Aam Bagan, Sakchi, on the day of nomination on 21st March and remain at a minimum distance of 1000 feet from the office of the deputy commissioner.
Among others present during the meeting included the Parliamentary election in-charge of the party and central committee secretary Abhay Singh, Dulal Bhuiyan, district president Firoz Khan, Lalan Chouhan, CH Rammurthy, Chanchal Garg, Suryakant Jha, Shashi Mishra, Usha Devi and Sharda Devi.
