Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Utilities & Services Company Limited, JUSCO, launched a weeklong road safety drive in Jamshedpur from Monday, February 4. This awareness campaign which commenced today will end on 10th of February. Several activities have lined up to sensitize and create awareness on road safety in Jamshedpur.
Tarun Daga, Managing Director, JUSCO and Raghunath Pandey, President, JUSCO Shramik Union, flagged off about 50 nos Tata Magic vans/vehicles from the JUSCO office in Bistupur carrying banners on traffic do’s and don’ts to create mass awareness about road safety.
“Everyone knows dos and don’ts, but very few follow them. We are trying to usher in a behavioural change. Indians generally avoid thinking about problems till something bad happens. Awareness is an important part in curbing any tragedies, so we are organising programmes to make people aware about road safety,” said Tarun Daga.
Senior divisional manager, safety department, JUSCO, Satyaraj Rath said that this initiative would be success even if a small percentage of people changed their attitude.
People won’t obey traffic rules by force. They have to realise the need from within.
