Jamshedpur : Peeved over erratic power supply at Ghodabandha GHuma Colony the local residents led by JMM leader Shyamal Ranjan Sarkar today held hostage of a senior officer of the Jharkhand State Electricity Board (JSEB) at Golmuri. The official, RR Prasad, sub divisional officer (electrical supply) was held hostage.

Though the residents had approached the local JSEB office, pressing the SDO (power supply) but despite repeated approach the supply could not restored.

“We are fed up with the JSEB for its lackadiasical attitude in power supply. As we were left with no option we called in the SDO (power supply) to the spot before holding him hostage,” said Sonu Hembram.

“Another resident said that as water supply also depended on the power supply, the power supply failure had come as a great problem for all of them.

They were feeling the heat of the power failure as it has deprived getting water.

When contacted a senior official of JSEB said that a section of residents were agitating for power supply from this afternoon, and that they allowed the officer to go home after the assurance that the problem of the consumers would be redressed.

On the occasion, Jayant Choubey, Ram Hansada , , Kashu Murmu , Patra Lakhan , , Ganapathy Ram Murmu , Simon Murmu , Birsa Banra , Kaaleecharan, Vudhu Gagrai , Dinesh Hansada , were present .
