JRD furnace erupts with Jamshedpur FC’s third win at home

Jamshedpur, Sports No Comments on JRD furnace erupts with Jamshedpur FC’s third win at home 161

Jamshedpur: Supercharged home fans erupted with lava of excitement as the home team registered its third win at home and fourth overall to gather 19 points and climb to the fourth rung of ISL’s fifth episode ladder.

The game commenced amidst the usual cries and drumbeats of the 21, 310 strong crowd of supporters but there was a lull when in the 24th minute of the first half, Delhi Dynamos’ striker Lallianzuala Chhangde found the JFC net vide a cross from Mihelic.

Hoping for an equalizer and again crying hoarse to egg on the home team, the fans had their prayers answered when Tim Cahill headed home the equalizer from a Carlos pass. While Cahill celebrated his second goal of the season with his trademark gusto, the crowd erupted once again and the atmosphere turned electric.

The winning goal came from Faruk Choudhary in the 61st minute when his rasping shot found the Delhi Dynamo net. Once again, it was a riot of shouts and drumbeats as the home fans went into joyous celebration.

The JFC players led by captain Tiri took a round of the stadium to express their gratitude for the enormous support provided to the team.

Amidst all the high voltage celebration the Delhi Dynamos were still pensive for not yet winning a single match in the 5th edition of the prestigious ISL tournament.

Smriti Singh, one of the charged-up spectors in the North West lower stand, gushed, “We were waiting for a goal from international legend Tim Cahill and he obliged us today with an incredible header. The wait, though long, yielded fruit.”

Another diehard fan, Rahul Yadav in the East upper layer, observed, “I, like the rest of the fans here, am tremendously happy with our team’s display. Yet, I feel that more local lads get a chance with Gaurav Mukhi cooling his heels with a six month suspension. Today, Mobashir Rahman got a chance with five minutes remaining in the match. The team management should ensure that Mobashir is included in the first eleven from here on. I feel that JFC should continue in the 4th place and wrest a place in the playoff round. The team has winners and it can win the ISL-5 tournament.”

The city has its fingers crossed.
