Jamshedpur: Although the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) organized statewide protest on Tuesday against the introduction of the centre’s Farm Bills the party organized mass demonstration in Jamshedpur on Wednesday. JMM leaders, party members and supporters crowded the main road thus impeding traffic movement and gathered en masse at the district office gate shouting anti government slogans. All care for COVID protocols were thrown to the winds as mockery of social distancing norm was evident in the manner the party members crowded the gates of the district office and the busy main road adjacent to the office. JMM legislators including Ghatshila MLA and the party’s East Singhbhum district president Ramdas Soren and Jugsalai legislator mangal Kalindi were also in the crowd of protestors. The moment Dhalbhum SDO arrived at the district office he ordered that the crowd be disbanded and his action attracted the ire of the two JMM legislators who picked up an arugument with the district official. But they could not have their way and this left them simmering. The SDO warned them against breaking COVID protocols. The legislators stated that they would complain about the SDO’s action to the state Chief Minister.
