Jamshedpur: Chief Minister Raghubar Das said Jharkhand may soon have its own Gurudwara Act depending upon the demand of the majority of Sikhs in the state. He said the legislation would help bring about uniformity in the management of Gurudwaras.

Das was speaking to the members of a delegation comprising Sikh leaders from the city led by the newly elected member of Sri Harmandir Sahib Patna Prabandhak Committee from South Bihar, Sardar Inderjeet Singh. He advised the minority leaders to raise relevant issues before the government.

Inderjeet Singh said the Bihar government was going to table Bihar State Gurudwara Bill for the management of Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib and other Gurudwaras following the order of Supreme Court. With the passing of the Bill, four lakh Sikhs of Jharkhand will no more be represented by Sri Harmandir Sahib management committee, he said.

The CM assured the delegation members of taking necessary steps to fulfill the demands raised by them.

The delegation members included Harminder Singh, Sukhvinder Singh Raju, Surjeet Singh, Jaspal Singh, Satvir Singh Somu, Manjeet Singh, Jaswant Singh Gill, Baldev Singh, Kulvinder Singh, Baljeet Singh and Kulvinder Singh Pannu.
