Jamshedpur: A torch rally for the ensuing Jharkhand Games to be organized between February 10 and 12 was taken out by the East Singhbhum Olympic Association in which players of various other sporting organizations also participated. In fact, the torch rally is being organized throughout Jharkhand to publicize the Jharkhand Games.
Among those who participated in the torch rally were District Olympic Association president Harbhajan Singh, secretary Brijesh Singh, treasurer Abhishek Kumar, Badmintion Association official Prabhakar Rao, Kabaddi Association’s Chandrashekhar, Special Olympic’s Awtar Singh, Boxing Association’s Jagannath Rao, Basketball Association’s Pradip Mukherjee and other representatives of other sports bodies.
District Olympic Association’s secretary commenced the rally with a run with the torch from the Bistupur Postal Park. Everesters Meghlal Mahto and Vinita Soren were the special guests who participated in the torch rally. The rally passed by the Gopal Maidan, Muslim Library, Narbheram Hansraj English School, Jamshedpur Women’s College and Medica Hospital and reached the Adityapur Bridge.
Then the officials of the East Singhbhum Olympic Association passed on the torch to Saraikela-Kharsawan Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan and SP Chandan Kumar Sinha. The Saraikela-Kharsawan Olympic Association president Manoj Kumar and secretary Sikander Mahto were present along with other officials during the event.
