Jamshedpur : Chief minister Raghubar Das celebrated Holi at his Agrico residence with family members and party supporters dancing to the tunes of Bhojpuri and Hindi Holi songs.Amidst fervor of the festival, he also played traditional instruments like jhanj (cymbal), smeared colours with family members and close group of party supporters between 10 am and 1 pm.

Later, in a brief interaction with media, Raghubar Das who is also the Jamshedpur East MLA extended warm wished to the people of the state and the country on Holi.

“The entire country is drenched with the festival of colours. The festival gives a message of unity and harmony and we hope that this will further lead the country to path of development and progress,” said Das.

Taking a jibe at the Congress chowkidar slogan against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Das said:“ Congress is socked with the response as more than 1.5 crore people have changed their tweeter handle as chowkidar following our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We will not allow Congress to loot the country anymore.”

Interestingly due to the model code of conduct, senior administrative officials were absent from the Holi function at the Chief Minister’s residence. Even the celebration was also low key affair the Das’s residence.

Earlier, State Food and Civil Supplies Minister Saryu Roy who is also the Jamshedpur West MLA also celebrated Holi with the members of the JRD Morning Walkers Association near the JRD Tata Sports Complex and later in the afternoon with party supporters at his Bistupur J Road Residence. He smearedcolours and also sang Holi songs with supporters and wished the state and the country prosperity during the festivity.

District administration had banned entry of heavy vehicles to the city from 6 am till 12 in the night of Thursday in view of the festivity and security forces and patrolling jeeps were deployed at strategic places to prevent any law and order problem.
